June 2008 Edition |
|
Welcome to our June edition. If you haven’t received a newsletter from us before you’ll soon be able to catch up on previous editions via the link on our website. Our updated HTML site will be going live soon. Exciting news! You may be aware that history is in the making with the Royal Caribbean Genesis project. The first cruise liner to offer carriage to 5,400 passengers cuts an impressive sight at an overall height of 240ft and 1,180ft in length. We worked closely with the architects throughout a large proportion of the design stage of this exciting project and now details are officially in the public realm we can shout about it! The first reveal details one of seven neighbourhoods located on the new super-liner, the space is being referred to as Central Park. Located at the centre of the ship it is open to the sky and features lush, tropical grounds spanning the length of a football field. An exquisite public gathering place featuring serene pathways, seasonal flower gardens and canopy trees, central park will provide cruisers with more choices in a unique outdoor space. Elegant and lively, Central Park’s central piazza will be the ship’s “town square” which evolves from a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere during the day to a gathering space for alfresco dining and entertainment in the evening, where guests will enjoy concerts and street performances. The neighborhood is lined with balcony staterooms rising six decks high with views of the Park below and the sky above. You will see from our imagery that we were required to supply both day and night shots of this particular area to provide an idea of the atmosphere cruisers could expect onboard. From our experience our clients usually consider night shots as an afterthought, usually having seen others on our website. It is worth bearing in mind that night-shots traditionally take more time to produce. This is primarily down to lighting the model in order to create just the right ambience without losing too much detail. So if you think it is a possibility on your scheme it’s worth mentioning early on at the quotation stage, especially when working to a tight deadline. “Our
brand identity is founded in innovation and on delivering the best cruise
vacation through ‘WOW’ experiences. Central Park is a true
evolution of cruise ship design and allows us to provide our guests
with not only a more varied selection of balcony accommodations, but
also a stunning public venue that will be a central element of the ship,
both during the day and at night.” Several bars will be scattered throughout the Park, including the Canopy Bar, located at one of two impressive glass-domed canopies, and the unique Rising Tide bar - the first moving bar at sea. Truly an engineering feat, Rising Tide will span three decks and allow cruisers to enjoy a cocktail as they slowly ascend into Central Park and then descend back into the public spaces below. Lets hope passengers have found their sea-legs by then! The Crystal Canopies, two impressive arched-glass domes, one with a bar, will be a focal point of Central Park and provide sunlight into the ship’s inner public spaces. Our involvement in this project is proof (if any is needed) that Animated Remedy is not like other visualising companies. Whilst our work is predominantly residential visualising we can turn our hand to various challenges. Over the coming months further details on the Genesis will be reported, and in turn our website updated to show the latest releases. When she launches in late 2009, Project Genesis will be the largest and most revolutionary cruise ship in the world. An architectural marvel at sea, she will span 16 decks, encompass 220,000 GRT, carry 5,400 guests, and feature 2,700 staterooms. The ship will sail from her home port in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and in 2010, she will be joined by a sister ship. Additional information is available at www.royalcaribbeangenesis.com.
